Clinical Teaching Associates Program, The University of Queensland
With the support of the Queensland Cancer Fund, the University of Queensland, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology established a gynaecological teaching associates program in 1996. This program is called the Clinical Teaching Associates in Gynaecology Program (CTA).
The CTA program is a medical education initiative facilitated by non-medical staff. These pioneering women teach medical students the fine technical and communication skills employed in a sensitive gynaecological examination, whilst being themselves examined. Their unique perspective, as both the patient and the finely skilled guide allows invaluable feedback and direction to the students.
This program provides a unique experience in training for health professionals undertaking breast and / or pelvic examination for women.
If you are interested in using the CTA program for your course or being part of the program itself please contact this office.
