Annabelle Farnsworth

Annabelle FarnsworthDr. Annabelle Farnsworth is the medical director of Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology (DHM) and the director of the DHM Cytopathology Department the largest cytology department in Australia reporting on both gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology specimens.  She is also the Adjunct Professor of Pathology at the Notre Dame School of Medicine in Sydney where she co-ordinates and runs the pathology program for this new medical school which commenced in 2007. DHM delivers the full pathology program to students in their first and second years.

 Dr. Farnsworth has an ongoing interest in cervical screening programs, quality assurance in cervical cytology and automation in cervical cytology.  She has been the chair of the quality assurance committee for the national cervical screening program and is currently the Australian Society of Cytology representative on the federal government review panel looking at quality standards in cervical cytology.  She has also published widely including investigations into automation in cervical cytology.
